But for some reason I cannot seem to put this one down. Tonight I finished up Part 7 on this needlepoint design by Kathy Rees. I just cannot wait to start each new square to see how the colors will work with the last set done. It is such a great surprise to see. <div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Here is Part 7:</div>

I hope you find a project that charges you with this much excitement.</div>

Right now I am doing one via Shining Needle Society called Sudoku by Needle Delights Originals by Kathy Rees. It just started last week and I am already way ahead to part five.<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-VFpsNCVU6is/U8coBw_7nlI/AAAAAAAAB9w/G86M8txxfFg/s1600/DSC02492.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-VFpsNCVU6is/U8coBw_7nlI/AAAAAAAAB9w/G86M8txxfFg/s1600/DSC02492.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Also, I have been busy trying to find time to work on the Learning Sampler. Here is my progress on Part 4.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QPccrbzWBSM/U8c73K_C0hI/AAAAAAAAB-A/684oFptDI0Q/s1600/DSC02493.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QPccrbzWBSM/U8c73K_C0hI/AAAAAAAAB-A/684oFptDI0Q/s1600/DSC02493.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I am glad that the summer weather has been a bit cooler than normal lately. It makes it easier to sit and enjoy stitching outside on the patio.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Just got back from visiting Jill Rensel's studio last week. Her work is amazing and I dropped off Hibernation Day. I cannot wait to see how it turns out. It is always fun to see the final results of her work. She had lots of projects on display getting ready to be shipped. It helps to remind me of projects that I have and need to finish. Then I know how she has finished them for others and I really want the same thing.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
One more item, I finished a class that I took in May with our local guild. It is a counted canvas project that fits inside of a beautiful music box. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br /></div>
<div>
Have a good weekend and Happy Stitching... </div>

Course, I think they are still talking about more snow in the upcoming week. YUCK. It has been so great to finally see the ground again. There is one small mound of snow in the front yard that the sun is unable to reach but I can tell that it is getting smaller.<br />
<br />
I have been busy trying to catch up with the Learning Sampler by Northern Expressions Needlework. Tomorrow Part 8 comes out and I am trying to finish up Part 3 this weekend. I think it might be doable.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kZxA2kgy-e0/Uzh9C2SoVlI/AAAAAAAAB8s/-DowCVJgRns/s1600/DSC02384.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kZxA2kgy-e0/Uzh9C2SoVlI/AAAAAAAAB8s/-DowCVJgRns/s1600/DSC02384.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
This is how it looked after completing Part 2. Hopefully later this week I can show you Part 3 done.<br />
<br />
This is really been a fun sampler to work on and I have been doing a lot of neat specialty stitches that I have done before but not in the combinations that this design is calling for. If you are interested in doing this pattern contact Nicole and sign up. <br />
<br />
Last Sunday I finished up a UFO for Monday UFO but I left it at the LNS to be finished. So, all I can show you is a photo of the picture from the pattern.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-cuwysPpqJnE/Uzh-AXzuJHI/AAAAAAAAB84/9Du0sK5y6Go/s1600/DSC02387.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-cuwysPpqJnE/Uzh-AXzuJHI/AAAAAAAAB84/9Du0sK5y6Go/s1600/DSC02387.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
This is Good Eggs by "The Triology". It is a pattern back from 2004 that I had started and then put it away for a rainy day. I need to look in my stash today and find something to finish up tomorrow night. I have a idea but not sure I can get it done in one night but will try.<br />
<br />
Enjoy your day stitching and relaxing......Babshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05266458109740180245noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7809048809712765537.post-700971066558599452014-03-17T20:18:00.000-07:002014-03-17T20:18:05.051-07:00Happy St Patrick's DayMonday's are going to turn into UFO project day for me. If I pick up something within my UFO stash that are close to being done I should be able to get the stash reduced. Today I was able to finish up Lucky by Shepherd's Bush.<br />

<br />
Sorry for the wrinkles. I was hoping to get this finished tonight and uploaded. It is late and time to call it night. <br />
<br />
Hope you enjoyed your St Patrick's Day.Babshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05266458109740180245noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7809048809712765537.post-26162732424925234602014-03-10T19:12:00.001-07:002014-03-10T19:12:44.818-07:00Learning SamplerRecently I joined an online class from Northern Expressions Needlework by Nicole Dostal. This class started back in Sept 2013 so you can guess that I am several lessons behind. I got my material and threads this past week. So, for the first week I have completed lesson one and I am starting up lesson two. Here is my progress:
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Q-Xa0HUCL8A/Ux5vc_XOEzI/AAAAAAAAB7k/46TrreZxoNI/s1600/DSC02377.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Q-Xa0HUCL8A/Ux5vc_XOEzI/AAAAAAAAB7k/46TrreZxoNI/s320/DSC02377.JPG" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here is a picture of the color theme that I have selected:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I am anxious to move along further with this project or at least closer to where everyone else is. I am working on 34 count Legacy Linen - color Wren Song. This fabric is amazing and has made this project even more enjoyable.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Well, this is a short update on what I started this week and letting you see my progress. I hope to keep up better with my blog in the next few weeks/months.</div>

<b>Happy 2014....</b></h2>
Stitching has been moving along but not as fast as I see others have done. I got a UFO project done early last month as part of a challenge project for the Lake Michigan Sampler guild. We had to sign up for a UFO project that we would get completed by year end. I had hoped to take it in to have framed before the next meeting but I did not get that accomplished. So, here is a shot of my wrinkled La-D-Da Margaret Cottam project.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yX3cfGBdaXs/UsXmCtxV__I/AAAAAAAAB54/83TtNXuhDu8/s1600/DSC02339.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yX3cfGBdaXs/UsXmCtxV__I/AAAAAAAAB54/83TtNXuhDu8/s320/DSC02339.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
I had stashed it away somewhere in the middle of Part 2. The challenge really helped me push to getting it done. Now I cannot wait to have it framed.<br />
<br />
On Thanksgiving weekend I started Hibernation Day by Heartstring Samplery. I cannot put this one down and have been working on it as much as I could during the holiday. I really love the colors on this one.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4XLOLKgGiTQ/UsXm6XhTCoI/AAAAAAAAB6E/UxHKjAY6mww/s1600/DSC02340.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4XLOLKgGiTQ/UsXm6XhTCoI/AAAAAAAAB6E/UxHKjAY6mww/s320/DSC02340.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-KL_oOKgH5wY/UsXm8_U0IUI/AAAAAAAAB6M/PNTluJS2uxI/s1600/DSC02343.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-KL_oOKgH5wY/UsXm8_U0IUI/AAAAAAAAB6M/PNTluJS2uxI/s320/DSC02343.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I am getting close to the bottom and past the longest stitching area - the houses. I did not use the color fabric called for and did find something else to substitute with. Pictures just cannot show you the true color affect.<br />
<br />
During 2013 I took three more classes from Ellen Chester. So, now I have three more class projects to add to my stash. The Lady's Worke Box project from 2012 is all stitched. Now I need to sit down and do the finishing..... I have been meeting monthly with the other class attendees so that we can keep pushing each other along. This has been very helpful. Just hope the snow stops so that I can make the January meeting. <br />
<br />
Here is another project that I added to my stash from Ellen's class.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-aTMJkz_FdTg/UsXoZGv_awI/AAAAAAAAB6Y/vCasDJPU144/s1600/DSC02291.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-aTMJkz_FdTg/UsXoZGv_awI/AAAAAAAAB6Y/vCasDJPU144/s320/DSC02291.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
This is a limited edition called A Petit Sampling Etui. She got together with a few other designers to create this project. There is another one that was from a prior year called A Noble Pursuit. I do have that one also and really should do it first since I have it kitted.<br />
<br />
I went to Inspired Needle's retreat this past October and need to show you a few pictures that I took.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

Here is Anna with her finish. Guess what, the Designer - Jan Alexander was here also. What a great way to celebrate a finish.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here are a couple more projects that ladies got done and even finished at the retreat. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

Hope your holidays were safe and warm. Enjoy the rest of the winter stitching. </div>

On Saturday morning I went to House Of Stitches in LaPorte to work on our past October project by Ellen Chester called "A Lady's Worke Box". I really love how this project is coming together.<br />
<br />

<br />
Here are a couple of the pieces that I have finished stitching and the progress on the house that will be on the front of the finished box. This project is amazing and I cannot wait to get it done. But, I have to say that I am also very excited to take two more classes this October from Ellen Chester. Linda from House of Stitches is having Ellen Chester back to teach two more of her teaching projects. Please use this link <span style="color: #009933;"><a href="http://www.houseofstitches.com/">www.<b>houseofstitches</b>.com</a> </span>to House of Stitches and click on events. Linda has several more spots available and I can promise you it will be a great weekend. The other plus is Linda's shop is just down the road from the retreat and her inventory is AMAZING. So, think about it and come join us. <br />
<br />
I am also busy working on two online classes. The first one is from Amy Mitten called "Needleworker's Pocketbook". Here is my progress.<br />
<br />

<br />
This is a very detailed project and has been hard to put down. I am trying to rotate thru my projects so that each one I have to get done this year will be accomplished.<br />
<br />
My other online class is "Buttons A Bounty" by Jackie Du Plessis. Sorry, no progress to share yet since I just got started today. Maybe with my next post you will see more.<br />
<br />
Recently I was able to find a pattern from a friend of a design that is out of print. It is "A Patriot's Sampler" by MidSummer Night Designs. I saw this design on display at Attic Needlework's shop last January and have been trying to find. I was lucky to find someone from my local shop that had the pattern. Thank you Teresa, I am truly enjoying this pattern!!!!!!<br />

<br />
Again, I am truly hoping that after you read my blog today you will go over to House Of Stitches and sign up for the Ellen Chester Retreat. Note, you can also sign up for one of the two days if that fits your schedule better. Reach out to your stitching buddies and make sure they take a look at these beautiful projects and sign up.<br />
<br />
Well, time to stitch before heading to bed. More to come of my rotationaly projects.Babshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05266458109740180245noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7809048809712765537.post-51965517340848428512013-06-10T18:20:00.001-07:002013-06-10T18:20:44.952-07:00Class Finish - Sherwood GardenI have been completing an online class via Shining Needle Society. It was a lot of fun and I did get a few weeks behind due to a vacation and other issues that happen. So, here is the result.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-9pJrcoeWGn4/UbZ4HiikZLI/AAAAAAAAB3g/jBZotPeLprA/s1600/DSC02141.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" cya="true" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-9pJrcoeWGn4/UbZ4HiikZLI/AAAAAAAAB3g/jBZotPeLprA/s320/DSC02141.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
This was from Needle Delights Orginials. I bought an extra kit to redo this project in blue. I think that will have to wait since I have signed up for another class that is just starting from Amy Mitten. It is a needleworker's pocketbook. If you get a chance take a look at her website at <a href="http://www.amymitten.com/">www.amymitten.com</a>. More to come on that once I get started.<br />
<br />
<br />
We just got back from a wonderful trip in Alaska and I want to share a few shots with you. If you ever get a chance to go you will love it.<br />

It is a counted cross project by Kathy Rees of Needle Delights Originals called the Sherwood Garden. It has been a lot fun and a quick weekly project to work on. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jcgN0Nem6Fk/UY_BWhD60uI/AAAAAAAAB2o/LW93J4mn8r4/s1600/DSC02042.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jcgN0Nem6Fk/UY_BWhD60uI/AAAAAAAAB2o/LW93J4mn8r4/s320/DSC02042.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Each week a new lesson is sent and I cannot wait to start it. I think I will try this one again in another color scheme.<br />
<br />
I am still working on the Maryland Sampler but it is getting behind in progress. Here are a few shots of my progress.<br />

Hope you all have a Wonderful Mother Day. It is good to see the sun shining on us today and hopefully our weather is getting better. I really hope to put my winter coat away for good. <br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img alt="" height="371" id="Image3_img" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-y9BHdz2tIQU/UAcp-rZSxfI/AAAAAAAAAPE/Vw6WnqYiyPs/s410/A%2BMaryland%2Baward%2B%25282%2529.JPG" style="visibility: visible;" width="380" /></div>
<br />
What a project and this is going to be a huge commitment. In the first month everyone was working towards getting the outer board done. No Way. This thing is huge and doing it on a 40 count is a challenge. Here is an idea of how large this project is.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-S41KVzyClC8/URMIlcZrPRI/AAAAAAAAB0o/uB6DZBfCXZI/s1600/DSC02032.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-S41KVzyClC8/URMIlcZrPRI/AAAAAAAAB0o/uB6DZBfCXZI/s320/DSC02032.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
A couple of weeks ago I attended the Sampler Symposium at Attic Needlework. While I was there I picked up an awesome frame. Jean from the shop told me about putting my fabric to the back of the frame so that I could run my needle under the frame easier. This is so great. It also makes it easier to work on the 40 count fabric. The size and shape of this hoop is amazing.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Ozz-4tHPuKQ/URMJRPX_n0I/AAAAAAAAB00/7Tm0rDEMYT4/s1600/DSC02033.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Ozz-4tHPuKQ/URMJRPX_n0I/AAAAAAAAB00/7Tm0rDEMYT4/s320/DSC02033.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
During my visit to Arizona I spent time with family. On a trip to the Lost Dutchman State Park we got a chance to see the most amazing hawk. It is a Harris Hawk.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here is an amazing sunset at the park.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Being back at home in the cold and snow makes it really hard since I got to enjoy a wonderful weekend in Arizona.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Time to stitch and forget about the cold.</div>

There will be tons of stitching time, shopping in town, and lots of great food. Oh, also lots of time meeting new ladies and sharing stitching tricks.<br />
<br />
I made a small exchange for the retreat. This was a free pattern by Plum Street Samplers.<br />

This is "I Thee Wed" from Blackbird Designs. I had a few issues with colors not being the same quality as it must have been when this design was previous published. I made a few changes but I think I could have done a better job. Oh well, it got done on time and framed.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-deHtusEQynY/UHTeboXlh3I/AAAAAAAABxY/PuqP1wLFYZw/s1600/DSC01700.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" nea="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-deHtusEQynY/UHTeboXlh3I/AAAAAAAABxY/PuqP1wLFYZw/s320/DSC01700.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Here it is after being framed.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9k8x28Ry-Os/UHTfDl4bIYI/AAAAAAAABxg/M0YENFCMQgM/s1600/DSC01861.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" nea="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9k8x28Ry-Os/UHTfDl4bIYI/AAAAAAAABxg/M0YENFCMQgM/s320/DSC01861.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-IF3Z_qxCoHA/UHTfR5v9kzI/AAAAAAAABxo/LAeOkpS6kns/s1600/DSC01860.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" nea="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-IF3Z_qxCoHA/UHTfR5v9kzI/AAAAAAAABxo/LAeOkpS6kns/s320/DSC01860.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The problem I had was with the grass. It called for Dandelion Stem by Crescent Colors but it was such a bright green with no variegation that I was afraid it would not work. I substituted Dried Thyme by Gentle Arts. The color changes as I hoped but the letters did not appear as well as I wanted. Here is a close up of the lettering.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TCeBpxocZqU/UHTf4S1TBNI/AAAAAAAABxw/PvB8fKbR4Zg/s1600/DSC01859.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" nea="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TCeBpxocZqU/UHTf4S1TBNI/AAAAAAAABxw/PvB8fKbR4Zg/s320/DSC01859.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Hopefully next time I think of doing something as a gift such as this I will allow more time in making the decisions, stitching, and framing.<br />
<br />
Now for something exciting and something I have never done before. This is my first giveaway. <br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I recently got back a finished item from Inspired Needle. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-qvSHPSSvi5w/UAM43SuLI_I/AAAAAAAABvk/NzLtsCDkkm4/s1600/DSC01620.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img $ca="true" border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-qvSHPSSvi5w/UAM43SuLI_I/AAAAAAAABvk/NzLtsCDkkm4/s320/DSC01620.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
This is Spring Robin by "Widgets and Wool Primitives" that I did in silks. I was at an open stitching day at Inspired Needle and the group came up with the fabric and fibers for this design. It turned out great and I love the green chenille and plaid used to finish this.<br />
<br />
If you want to do this one call Cathy at Inspired Needle to see if she has anymore kitted up.Babshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05266458109740180245noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7809048809712765537.post-71282715324591144212012-07-15T14:33:00.000-07:002012-07-15T14:33:40.577-07:00Busy Stitcher's LifeHappy Sunday,<br />
<br />
Wow, since my last blog I have had a crazy life and sorry that has totally prevented me from doing my most favorite things. Stitching time has started to get back on track so I had to find time to update my blog. I really don't know how some of you get time to do as many updates as you do and still get on with life. You guys are my hero's and help to keep me motivated to at least have a blog.<br />
<br />
It is a quiet Sunday here at home and the kids (Brinkley and Josie) are keeping cool close to the air vents so that they can slumber peacefully.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-5O4BW9-GkVU/UAMvTcyQKcI/AAAAAAAABuM/TebnaaAZGQ0/s1600/DSC01617.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img $ca="true" border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-5O4BW9-GkVU/UAMvTcyQKcI/AAAAAAAABuM/TebnaaAZGQ0/s320/DSC01617.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-5bEy-gzvwVQ/UAMvVXKrc9I/AAAAAAAABuU/0Nr3Dj566DM/s1600/DSC01619.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img $ca="true" border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-5bEy-gzvwVQ/UAMvVXKrc9I/AAAAAAAABuU/0Nr3Dj566DM/s320/DSC01619.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
It is so much fun to have a quiet and peaceful Sunday. At least that provides me with some good stitching time. I am currently working on Little House Needleworks "Brave Hearts".<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-tDy6ZrjvnXs/UAMwX0_mE2I/AAAAAAAABuc/m26uHRlHiuY/s1600/DSC01614.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img $ca="true" border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-tDy6ZrjvnXs/UAMwX0_mE2I/AAAAAAAABuc/m26uHRlHiuY/s320/DSC01614.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I saw this done back in June in the home of Jan Alexander and just had to run home and pull it out of my stash to work on. Course, when you look at your stash you always find many others that you just have to get moving on. I hope to have this one done in the next week and will also stitch up "Battle Hymn of the Republic" by LHN on the same fabric. The fabric is from Tree of Life Linens (Jan Alexander) called Roasted Hickory Nut - 32 count. The picture just doesn't give you a true view of the colors. Maybe after it is finished and framed you will be able to see it better.<br />
<br />
Back in June I attended Jan's retreat. I had a great time stitching with old and new friends. I got a few finishes done that we stitched up prior to the retreat.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8P8pUQrzyXI/UAMxTvBzazI/AAAAAAAABuk/ky2kDaiRBMw/s1600/DSC01584.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img $ca="true" border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8P8pUQrzyXI/UAMxTvBzazI/AAAAAAAABuk/ky2kDaiRBMw/s320/DSC01584.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
It really felt good to come home with a finished project. Here is Jan with Ellen and myself.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Ebzpk0prQh4/UAMx8nuQYYI/AAAAAAAABus/Ya4cd6y-uOk/s1600/DSC01570.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img $ca="true" border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Ebzpk0prQh4/UAMx8nuQYYI/AAAAAAAABus/Ya4cd6y-uOk/s320/DSC01570.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I still need to keep working on the sampler project. I really don't have much done to show you so stay tuned. Course, I need to get off of my patriotic mood of stitching. My buddies would say that that would be mission impossible since that is my most favorite stitching theme.<br />
<br />
Once I got home from TOLS retreat I found that my first ever adventure in the world of Ebay auctions had arrived. Here is a Clark's Spool cabinet from the 1800's.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FHzG5gcvtWk/UAMyyXkslfI/AAAAAAAABu0/vDI3tDTyHcA/s1600/DSC01581.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img $ca="true" border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FHzG5gcvtWk/UAMyyXkslfI/AAAAAAAABu0/vDI3tDTyHcA/s320/DSC01581.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
It is amazing. It will need a bit cleaning done on it since it was found in an old sewing store's storage. It has not been touched which will make it even more valuable to me. I have been wanting one of these for years course if I ever find one that has John Clark(e) on it I will need to have to add it to my collection since that is part of my family name for many generations. So if you ever see one please let me know about it.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">
This weekend I did attend another retreat in Downer's Grove by Tomorrow's Heirlooms. We had Lori from La D Da and Linda from Chessie N Me as our teachers. The event was great and the projects are amazing. <br /> </div>

Well, I have had lots of fun lately and you can see why I got behind in my blogging. For those of you reading this and don't have a blog (you know I know who you are Cindy or Pat) leave me a note to tell me you at least read this blog update.</div>
<div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;">

Lastly, I think you might remember that I started ABC Prairie School stitching with a group of friends. Well, only one has been providing me with updates and I have really let mine slip away and need to pick it back up. But for Ellen I really needed to show you her amazing progress. </div>

Well, the kids are starting to rise and I think I have provided you with enough to see what has been going on. Take care and enjoy your week.</div>Babshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05266458109740180245noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7809048809712765537.post-40661426111140255692012-06-15T16:55:00.001-07:002012-06-15T21:00:58.583-07:00They Are Here!!! They Are Here!!!Yesterday was the best day ever!!!! If you remember back to my last long ago posting I mentioned that I had something special coming up. Well, I took a trip to Ogden, Utah to have Jill Rensel frame a project for me. Well, it didn't end up being just one, it turned into 4. I am so excited and cannot wait to share the pictures she took. Since her pictures are better than anything I could do I am going to post her's.<br />
<br />

<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-axwtX07xWk0/T9vHf57oqgI/AAAAAAAABtI/XpQGSH-mOTs/s1600/Tis+the+Season.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" pca="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-axwtX07xWk0/T9vHf57oqgI/AAAAAAAABtI/XpQGSH-mOTs/s320/Tis+the+Season.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Aren't they amazing!!!! Trust me, seeing them in person in my home is even better than what I could have ever imagined. I started out wanting to just do Tis the Season from Blackbird Designs since I had seen it at Jill's shop a couple of years ago. But since I was making the trip out and had a few extra to take I went for it. I am so pleased and her work is so amazing.<br />
<br />
Last weekend we went antique shopping and I found some of the most amazing FROGS. I love the colors and the different styles. Depression glass is so amazing.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ksdhr1hbYVk/T9vItKxfUtI/AAAAAAAABtQ/xsVeUzm5i4g/s1600/DSC01534.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" pca="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ksdhr1hbYVk/T9vItKxfUtI/AAAAAAAABtQ/xsVeUzm5i4g/s320/DSC01534.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The one in the middle is very unique in coloring. It really wasn't part of the frog but since I found one that the frog would fit into I just couldn't pass it by.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WmK6ylnikno/T9vJGaUJtAI/AAAAAAAABtY/o3nHV_Gw3Bs/s1600/DSC01539.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" pca="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WmK6ylnikno/T9vJGaUJtAI/AAAAAAAABtY/o3nHV_Gw3Bs/s320/DSC01539.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-A8rauYb7w8A/T9vJI6RO7MI/AAAAAAAABtg/uNPpP9O4gqo/s1600/DSC01540.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" pca="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-A8rauYb7w8A/T9vJI6RO7MI/AAAAAAAABtg/uNPpP9O4gqo/s320/DSC01540.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I love the green base on the bottom. Now I need to find a good way to display these and I guess I will be buying lots of scissors to fill them.<br />
<br />
Last item I want to show you is my Easter Parade that Kathy from Inspired Needle framed for me. I found the frame in her shop and thought this would be a good match for this design. Thank you Kathy, I just love it.<br />
<br />

<br />
Hope you find lots of time to stitch and enjoy the weekend. I am outside enjoying the warmth and also watching the house wrens taking care of their babies and feeding them constantly. It is so neat to listen to the babies calling out for food.<br />

When you have a goal to get items done for something very important you seem to pick-up an astounding pace. First up is a project I started on back in January of 2011 and then put it back in the stash pile.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-RJSF7EvGYRY/T4zYMaRiCfI/AAAAAAAABkI/NTyv4V02wJI/s1600/DSC01467.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" nda="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-RJSF7EvGYRY/T4zYMaRiCfI/AAAAAAAABkI/NTyv4V02wJI/s320/DSC01467.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> <br />
<div align="center"><span style="font-size: x-small;">Flag Day by With thy Needle & Thread</span></div><div align="center"><span style="font-size: x-small;">Conversion Design by Shepherd's Bush</span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">Is this one great!!!! I love the color changes and buttons. I cannot <span style="background-color: white;">wait</span><span style="background-color: white;"> </span>to have this framed. I have a few great ideas.</div><div style="text-align: left;">Next up is a pattern that I saw at my LNH. Several of the stitchers got together and came up with color changes in silks. The shop owner at Inspired Needle put it together as a kit with fabric. I just love this one. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-VZ4msacYUwY/T4zZelFWrtI/AAAAAAAABkQ/xzzf0RAXHBY/s1600/DSC01465.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" nda="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-VZ4msacYUwY/T4zZelFWrtI/AAAAAAAABkQ/xzzf0RAXHBY/s320/DSC01465.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><span style="font-size: x-small;"></span><br />

</div><div style="text-align: left;">The final completion of this month is.......</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: left;">This one I did on a fabric called "Patina" and the only color that I changed was the white called Vanilla Pudding. I changed it to Icing by Crescent Colours. My photo does not give this picture true justification. Hopefully once it is framed it will show up better. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">I cannot tell you how exciting it is to get three projects done and ready for finishing. Next week I will let you all in on my secret adventure coming up. In the meantime have a great week and lots of good stitching time.</div>Babshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05266458109740180245noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7809048809712765537.post-27759633949086081902012-04-04T18:49:00.000-07:002012-04-04T18:49:25.113-07:00Easter Is ComingWell, I finished an Easter Project this last weekend but forgot to take a picture of it before dropping it off to be framed. So, here is the picture from the booklet.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-uzZm8KXGQFA/T3z2tMT4gtI/AAAAAAAABjY/HSxZEoqENHY/s1600/DSC01456.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" nda="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-uzZm8KXGQFA/T3z2tMT4gtI/AAAAAAAABjY/HSxZEoqENHY/s320/DSC01456.JPG" width="213" /></a></div>I finished the Rabbit and it is very lovely. A few years ago I did the basket of flowers (picture below). I just love the colors in this project. <br />
Yesterday I picked up the Garden of Love that I finished in February. I just love the way this one was finished.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-LGJcrNOGeqA/T3z3VipciDI/AAAAAAAABjg/Ppc20u-0YuA/s1600/DSC01455.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" nda="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-LGJcrNOGeqA/T3z3VipciDI/AAAAAAAABjg/Ppc20u-0YuA/s320/DSC01455.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />

I love the plaid fabric. The purple color really makes this design stand out.<br />

Not bad, got this pattern a few weeks ago and was able to fit it into my project rotations.<br />

We are busy watching the Super Bowl and I didn't want to miss out on the action. <br />

Goodnight everyone......Babshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05266458109740180245noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7809048809712765537.post-57638650604396054352012-02-05T14:52:00.000-08:002012-02-05T14:52:45.294-08:00February StitchingThere has been a lot of progress going on in my projects but I know that my blog has not represented it lately. Everytime I think I am going to sit down and post there isn't either enough time to take pictures, poor lightening, or I am just too tired to get the laptop or camera out. So, today I was on mission to iron my projects and take advantage of daylight for photos. <br />
<br />
First: Inspired Needle in Lemont is working with a group of stitchers to offer a new small project each month of 2012. I didn't pick up the January project but did grab the opportunity to do the February project which is "Garden of Love" by Citrouille's Designs. I just love the fabric and threads that were put into this kit. The threads are what the pattern called for.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_ZowvvGP588/Ty77BBof9mI/AAAAAAAABhg/wazG_ul9tg4/s1600/DSC01395.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" sda="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_ZowvvGP588/Ty77BBof9mI/AAAAAAAABhg/wazG_ul9tg4/s320/DSC01395.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
Second: Margaret Cottam by La D Da. I just love this design and currently working on Part 2. It took me a while to be excited by using only one thread on this design but the more I have done the greater it is looking. <br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-R85YHZgtLXc/Ty77_SrZnuI/AAAAAAAABho/kq2xKUpbudM/s1600/DSC01402.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" sda="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-R85YHZgtLXc/Ty77_SrZnuI/AAAAAAAABho/kq2xKUpbudM/s320/DSC01402.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>Next up, I continue to work on the following designs from Blackbird Designs - Loose Feathers and With thy Needle & Thread - mystery sampler Birds of a Feather.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-e_UduzRgHDA/Ty79kb61uLI/AAAAAAAABhw/6sCwlbSe_VU/s1600/DSC01398.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" sda="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-e_UduzRgHDA/Ty79kb61uLI/AAAAAAAABhw/6sCwlbSe_VU/s320/DSC01398.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fSh00Y_Zv8Q/Ty7943owe_I/AAAAAAAABh4/5SQR5qBTJvc/s1600/DSC01388.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" sda="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fSh00Y_Zv8Q/Ty7943owe_I/AAAAAAAABh4/5SQR5qBTJvc/s320/DSC01388.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>Lastly, I have done a bit of progress on Winter Floral Sampler from the designer Knotted Tree. I just love the colors and how they pop on this fabric.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-busZvgYkS5M/Ty7-mqoqgvI/AAAAAAAABiA/_P_lIScV0Kg/s1600/DSC01400.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" sda="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-busZvgYkS5M/Ty7-mqoqgvI/AAAAAAAABiA/_P_lIScV0Kg/s320/DSC01400.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div>At the end of 2011 I did finish a project but didn't get a picture taken of it. I am attending a class this Friday at Inspired Needle which we will put our finished projects onto a box as shown on the pattern by Blackbird. This design is called Morning Star. I love this.....<br />

I hope to get a good scan of this pattern that I completed and add it to a necklace. Right now the printer and I are not playing well together. I will send DH to tackle it. Course, only after he finishes the wonderful roast he put in the oven today.<br />
<br />
The last update that I have really been behind on is the ABC Stitching Gals project. There are three of us working on Prairie Schoolers ABCs and so far I am way, way, way behind on this project. I did work more the other day on the pumpkin but I think someone is taking out the stitches on me since I am not able to get to the end of this pumpkin. Here is my progress.... UGH......<br />
<br />

Ellen has gotten a lot done on hers. She off onto her third letter. Here is her progress:<br />
<br />
<br />

Keep up the good work Ellen. Cannot wait to see what you send to me next.<br />
<br />
As soon as I finish up my February small Garden of Love I have two new projects to decide on. They are both for February but I think this will one will be my focus. It is With Thy Needle & Thread's - <br />
Be My Valentine. <br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_cqWnln702A/Ty8DsFAAFuI/AAAAAAAABiw/wqBrI0lJHHI/s1600/DSC01404.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" sda="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_cqWnln702A/Ty8DsFAAFuI/AAAAAAAABiw/wqBrI0lJHHI/s320/DSC01404.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
This was an easy decision since I get to eat the chocolates first. Yummmmmmm<br />
<br />
Well, see, I have been doing a lot of stitching. Just a slow blogger. I haven't set any goals for 2012 like I failed at in 2011 but I have changed the way I sit down and stitch. Each time I sit down to stitch I pick up one of these projects and have made a habit of switching to a different one the next time. If I have a good week of stitching I should be able to touch each of them with at least an hour of stitching time.<br />
<br />
As I was taking pictures of my projects my the living room window I happened to look outside and caught this picture. I am going to call it the "Lady in Pink". This girl was completely dressed in pink and was walking her standard size poodle. The poor poodle had its head dyed pink to match her coat. I wish I had a better camera that was able to get a closer shot. Enjoy....<br />
<br />

I wonder how long the pink dye lasts or if it will run in the rain.Babshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05266458109740180245noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7809048809712765537.post-40114311540402671962011-12-23T19:29:00.000-08:002011-12-23T19:29:49.831-08:00Happy HolidaysThe tree is decorated, the cards have been mailed, the cookies are baked, and the gifts are wrapped. Wow, maybe I can finally sit and stitch again. Well, maybe not for a couple more days. <br />
<br />
The only pictures I have to share with you at this time are my puppies enjoying the Christmas tree.<br />
<br />

I only added a few more stitches to mine so that really isn't worth a picture. <br />
<br />
Last Sunday I got a chance to sit and stitch at Inspired Needle in Lemont. Not only did I sit and stitch but I did do a bit of shopping also. I purchased "Winter Floral Sampler" by Knotted Tree. I need to give this one a start right away.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-P7J62TiIMkc/TsXKDuw4T7I/AAAAAAAABgI/t0BY_RCah1E/s1600/DSC01271.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" hda="true" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-P7J62TiIMkc/TsXKDuw4T7I/AAAAAAAABgI/t0BY_RCah1E/s320/DSC01271.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>The colors on this pattern are great. I cannot wait to work more on this. <br />
<br />
Also, last Saturday/Sunday I got a lot done on Summer - Loose Feathers by Blackbird Design. Just in time since I picked up the next section Autumn.<br />
<br />
Enjoy your Thanksgiving.Babshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05266458109740180245noreply@blogger.com2
